Jasmin is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary visual artist whose work bridges traditional and contemporary photographic practices. Working with 35mm and medium format film, cyanotype, and 3D media, she often merges analog processes with digital techniques to create layered, evocative imagery that reflects both personal and collective narratives.
Originally from Southern California with indigenous roots in Mexico, Jasmin explores themes of cultural identity, womanhood, shared humanity, and the ever-evolving concept of home. Drawing inspiration from artists like Judithe Hernandez and Lorna Simpson, Jasmin’s work is deeply informed by a lineage of women who challenge representation through visual narrative. She also draws from a broad spectrum of creative expression, including music, spoken word, and literature, infusing her practice with rhythm, introspection, and cultural memory.
